The zimmer is located on Yehuda Street in the heart of the Bakah neighborhood. Bakah is located in the valley of Nahal Refayim (the Ghost Creek) in the southern part of Jerusalem. Bakah was built at the end of the 19th century as one of the first Arabic neighborhoods to be built outside of the Old City walls. The first residents of Bakah were Muslim and Christian Arabs. Since its establishment until the 50's a large part of Bakah's residents worked in agriculture, as many of the surrounding fields were ideal for agricultural purposes. From the 19th century until 1998 a train ran through the neighborhood connecting Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. As a result, the Bakah neighborhood turned into a bustling center. Today Bakah is considered one of the wealthiest and most sought after neighborhoods in Jerusalem. A quiet, ancient, and picturesque neighborhood filled with many stories. Unique alleys and hidden beauty are to be discovered.
